And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
Matthew 25:15 (KJV)
Bottom line: You will never maintain what you can’t contain.
Teaching
Many Christians question God’s ability to bless them with greater measures of finances, businesses, etc. They fail to understand that the problem is not God’s ability to bless them but their capacity to contain greater measures of God’s blessing.
The Bible teaches us that God gives without holding back.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Ephesians 1:3 (KJV)
God is not holding back anything from us. He does not have some reserved blessings which he has kept back from us. The Bible says that He has blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Someone will ask, why then am I not experiencing these blessings? The answer is simple. How much of God’s blessings you will experience in your life depends on your capacity to receive it and contain it.
You must first note that every blessing of God is in the spirit realm. For these blessings to be translated into your physical life, you must apply faith. Receiving faith by listening and meditating on the word of God and putting your faith to work through your confessions and actions will cause the spiritual blessing of God to manifest physically in your life.
If faith is not applied, you will be blessed spiritually, by you won’t enjoy these blessings in your earthly life. This is synonymous to a man who has millions of dollars in his bank account but does not go to the bank to cash his money out and use it. He is rich but will live the life of a peasant. Faith is what permits us to cash out spiritual blessings into this earthly realm.
Therefore, the amount of blessings you will experience will depend on the quantity and strength of your faith. You will receive only what your faith can contain.
While recounting the parable of the talents, Jesus said:
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
Matthew 25:14-15 (KJV)
The servants were given talents according to their capacities to contain and manage them.
The Bible says:
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
Just as God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, He has also put a system in place such that you will receive His blessings according to your spiritual maturity and faith in Him.
Therefore, grow in faith today and activate greater dimensions of God’s blessings in your life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
