Teaching
The Bible teaches us in John 1: 4-5 that.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 1:4-5
The word of God is the light of men. This word manifested in the flesh in the person of Jesus. He dwelled among us and taught us the Father’s will. In one of his teachings, he said.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

We are the light of the world. This world has been plunged into darkness by Satan and his demons. Men living in this world live in darkness because this world is ruled by Satan.
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:4
Satan has blinded the eyes of men and kept them in darkness and bondage until Jesus Christ was revealed. Through Jesus and the preaching of his name, men who were in captivity can experience liberty. By the power of his blood, everyone chained by the devil and his angels can be free. Men can now experience true light and freedom through the preaching of the gospel.
Therefore, Jesus says we are the light of the world. He said this because he has committed to our charge the word(gospel) of life, which can save every man who hears and believes it.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16
Therefore, Jesus said to us.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15
You are the hope of those around you who haven’t yet experienced the light of The gospel of Jesus Christ. They have to hear God’s word and be saved. But how can they hear if there is no preacher?
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Romans 10:14
You are the preacher that the Lord is sending to your family, your relatives, your colleagues, your neighborhood, and more. You are the light of the world. You can’t hide your light. Let it shine before men so that they may glorify the God you serve.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
Do not keep the gospel to yourself, share and spread it all around you, because you are the light of the world.

Thank you, Lord, because I am the light of the world that surrounds me through Jesus Christ my Lord. I receive utterance today to preach your word to my world in Jesus’ name. Amen.
