Teaching
The Bible in our proof text tells the story of the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt. When you read the full story in Exodus 12:1-28, you’ll understand that a death angel was permitted to strike all the firstborns in the Land of Egypt. Then God gave instructions to the children of Israel through Moses the prophet that, they should kill a male lamb of the first year without blemish and strike it on the two side posts and the upper post of their house. This was going to be a sign that would retrain the death angel from coming into their homes and causing chaos.
Therefore, the Jews celebrate the Passover, the day the lives of their homes were protected from the death angel by the blood of the lamb.
But this was just an allegory of what God was going to do for the world through Christ Jesus. The Bible says:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1 Peter 1:18-19
Jesus Christ, the son of God was sacrificed on the cross of Calvary to redeem the world from sin and reconcile us all back to God. The blood of Jesus has power to cleanse any man who lives in sin. And it has power to protect everyone who has come to Christ. There is power in the blood of Jesus!
The death angel (devil) could not cross the blood of animals, how much more the blood of Christ? Every believer can apply the blood of Christ through his/her words anywhere he/she chooses, and the devil will be kept out. The reason why the devil has not been able to destroy your home or family is because of your presence. You are covered and sanctified by the blood of Christ and so, no weapon fashioned against you, or your family can succeed.
There is a hedge of protection around your life and no devil can break through it. The only one that can break the hedge is you, by the words of your mouth.
8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
Ecclesiastes 10:8
Wherever you find yourself, know your presence in that place is equivalent to the presence of God. You are the restraining power of evil there. Take advantage of the blood today and keep the devil out of your home, your workplace, your neighborhood, your city, and your nation. Hallelujah!
