‘For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. ‘
Romans 8:19 (KJV)
Bottom line: The World is your mission field.
Teaching
A lot of Christians today have not understood their purpose in the body of Christ. Some of them, after being saved, simply commit themselves to going to church and giving offerings. They are great brothers and sisters in the church, but out of the church, it is barely known that they are Christians. Especially in their workplace. Some hide their Christian faith from their colleagues. Well, Jesus gave this instruction before leaving the earth.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15 (KJV)
I would like us to take note of the highlighted phrase. Jesus in this instruction, makes us clearly understand our mission field. We are to go to the WORLD. The World here represents every other location that is out of the gathering of the saints. i.e. your homes, your job sites, the market, the streets, everywhere. So, Christians ought to be seen actively preaching the word in the streets and at their places of work. But the contrary is observed. We shout hallelujah in church but remain silent outside of the church. It ought not to be so. May I say, the church is our place of fortification, not our place of mission. We go to church to get equipped for our mission field which is out there in the world not in church.
Our proof text says:
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Romans 8:19 (KJV)
The Bible here tells us that there are men, women, and children out there in the world who are waiting for us to show up for them. They are in captivity and daily oppressed by the devil. We are the saviors they are waiting for.
Therefore, let us rise as the army of the Lord and awake to our mission. Let us make someone our mission of the week. Let there be a conscious effort to snatch these souls in the world out of the kingdom of the devil into the kingdom of God. Let us pray for them daily. Let us give ourselves wholly to our assignment and the Lord shall prosper us. The Bible says:
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:14-15 (KJV)
Rise and take your place today as a good soldier in the Lord’s army. Make the gospel known in your neighborhood, in the streets, in the marketplaces, and at your workplace. Talk about Jesus to everyone and everywhere you go, and the Lord shall reward you in great measure.
