And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau;
Obadiah 1:21
and the kingdom shall be the LORD’s.
Bottom line: You are the solution the world has been waiting for.
Teaching
When we look at our society today, we discover that a good majority of the people are in one crisis or the other. Some have health challenges, others are after the love and affection of parents they never grew to know, and many live in acute poverty, waiting for a deliverer. Many of them look up to heaven and pray for a miracle. Today, I want you to know that you are the miracle they have been praying for. You are the deliverer they have been waiting for.
Our proof text says:
21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau;
Obadiah 1:21
and the kingdom shall be the LORD’s.
The Bible clearly makes us understand that the saviors awaited by the world are citizens of Zion (the kingdom of God). In other words, Christians.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Romans 8:19
The world is waiting for a savior, and you are that savior. You are born of God and full of his spirit and power. He has passed unto you the same divine mandate which he lived and died for.
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:18-19
This is the mandate of God over your life. You are born to deliver the oppressed. You are born to house the homeless. You are born to give hope to all those that have lost hope. Therefore, whatever your profession is, the purpose of that job is to reach out to they that need salvation, in every way possible.
When men cry to God for help, God hears their prayer, but he doesn’t send an angel from heaven to save them. He sends men with a sense of purpose.
7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites, 8 That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
Judges 6:7-8
The children of God were in bondage in Egypt and cried to the Lord because of their distress and God sent Moses to deliver them. Humanity was captured in the bondage of sin; God sent his son in the likeness of human flesh to save them.
Now, these men, women, and children in your generation are crying out for help. You are the helper God wants to send. He wants you to act as the husband to the widows, the father to the orphans, the sponsor to the homeless, and more. You are a Christian on mission. This is your purpose and goal. You are the extension of God’s loving hand to humanity. So right now, stop living for yourself and start living and fighting for them. It is your calling.
