not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is ; but exhorting one another : and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
Bottom line: Take advantage of the corporate anointing.
Teaching
The Bible says that yokes are broken by the anointing of the Holy Spirit:
27 And it shall come to pass in that day,
Isaiah 10:27
that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder,
and his yoke from off thy neck,
and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
The anointing of God’s spirit is the power that accompanies the presence of God. This power liberates every man that is in bondage. Jesus declared in Luke 4:18:
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4:18
The anointing therefore is there to break chains; chains of limitation, sickness, set-back, and every power of darkness.
This anointing or unction can rest on an individual like it does on every child of God, as well as it can manifest during the assembly of the brethren. This type is called the corporate unction. When saints gather in a meeting to worship and fellowship with the word, the Spirit, and with one another, the corporate unction comes into operation. This unction brings about the miraculous. Those who were sick among them get instant healing. Others who are in chains or any other form of bondage receive instant deliverance. The corporate unction is so powerful, much more powerful than the unction on a single person that with or without prayers made, tremendous miracles occur. This is because the presence of God is mighty at the gathering of the saints. The Bible says:
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Matthew 18:20
Paul the apostle understood the importance of the corporate unction. He knew that every believer draws strength when he is in unity with the brethren and frequently fellowships with them. So he instructed the church to be steadfast in their fellowship with each other:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25
As a believer, I admonish you to be faithful in attending your local church gathering. Be always present to fellowship with the brethren and with the Word of God. The anointing of God in such gatherings will deliver you from every yoke you may be in and it will break every chain you may be entangled in. Even without praying, the anointing of God will work in your life. As you lift your hands in worship with the saints of God, God’s presence shall envelop you and liberate you from any sickness or bondage, be it emotional or financial. Therefore, take advantage of the corporate unction today as you fellowship with the Lord in the midst of the brethren. Shalom.
Further Study
- Isaiah 33:20,24 [20 ‘Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken. 24And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.’]
Reflection
- Do you belong to a local church?
- How often do you attend your local church meetings?
- Are you an active member of the church (do you hold any post of responsibility)?
- If not, then involve yourself more in the life of the church. Belong to a department. Attend departmental meetings as well. Then, you’ll see your life moving into higher levels of glory.
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, for making me a part of the Christian family. I declare that as I fellowship with the brethren, every yoke or chain in my life is broken today by the anointing of your Spirit, in Jesus’s name. Amen!
