Mother Comforting Crying Daughter

Help is on the way

Have you ever been through those moments in life when it seems the whole world’s problems have been laid upon you? You feel lost and alone, wondering if you will ever get through it, wondering if there is anyone who could ever understand what you are going through. It feels like no one cares and no one can help, like tomorrow is but a mirage… all hope seems lost.

Cheer up, help is on the way.

When all hope seems lost

Trials and tribulations are a natural part of life. Some seasons may feel like winter: cold and barren, some seasons may feel like midnight: dark and scary, but fear not, the sun comes up in the morning, spring comes after the winter – there will be life and light again.

When all hope seems lost, find strength in God to keep going. He is God in the good times and still God in the bad times.

In the Bible, Jesus Himself assures us that He will be with us always, even to the very end of the world. That means even in your deepest valleys – your darkest nights, the lowest points of your life, your saddest moments – even when everyone turns their back on you and everything you trust fails, God will be with you and He will never leave you. He is God in the good times and still God even in the bad times.

Dwell in peace knowing that as long as God is with you (which is forever), hope is not lost. But when it seems like it is, turn to God’s word and let the reminder that He is near fill your heart and bring comfort to your soul.

The Holy Spirit, our ever-present help

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever–

John 14:16 (AMP)

When Jesus walked upon the earth, He was a present help for His disciples. They had a certain peace and calmness that came from the confidence that Jesus was Alpha and Omega, God almighty in the body of a human. Peace and calmness like a little child [with good parents] who knows that mommy and daddy will take care of everything and trusts that no matter what happens, as long as mommy and daddy are here, they will be safe. When the time came however for Jesus to ascend into heaven, a feeling of concern came upon the disciples but Jesus assured them that He would never leave them alone. He promised them the Holy Spirit, the ever-present help.

All of us who are Christians have been given this same gift of the Holy Spirit. He is here to counsel, help, intercede, advocate, strengthen, and support us, and He will never leave, even when everyone else does. You can always count on the Holy Spirit living within you.

Tap into the springs within you

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

John 7:38 NIV

You have springs within you that are always producing and never drying up. Springs welling up onto love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, self-control, faithfulness, and gentleness. Springs that produce overflowing rivers of living water within you. Springs that will eradicate barrenness and produce abundance in your life.

In order to tap into those springs, you need to clear anything blocking access to it, things such as anger, anxiety, worry, impatience, hatred, sorrow, depression, feelings of hopelessness, etc. Negative attitudes and thoughts are like huge rocks placed on a well that block access to the water therein, if you dwell on them, you hinder the flow of the living water within you.

In order to tap into the springs within you:

  • First, realize that they are there and what they are.
  • Get rid of negative thoughts and attitudes, they are just hindrances.
  • Pray in the Holy Ghost.
  • Talk right, your words have the power to change the course of your life.
  • Focus on God and don’t panic, don’t focus on your problems.
  • DO whatever God tells you to do and say what He says.

Helping hands

Many times, God decides to work through people like you and me: one person calls on God and He sends another person in response. In this world, we are God’s helping hands. So, never ignore the nudging in your heart to help someone else.

Just like God can use you to be a helping hand to someone, He can also send helping hands to you in your times of need.

That said, don’t box God in. When you call out to Him, He responds however He chooses to, so try not to limit Him to your ideas and precepts. Let Him move however He chooses to, your role is just to believe and wait in faith, expecting that He will answer you because He promised that He will.

Help is on the way, don’t give up hope. You are closer to your breakthrough than you think.

Bible verses

  • Deuteronomy 31:6 [Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.]
  • Matthew 28:20 [… and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.’
  • Psalm 121:4 [Behold, he that keepeth Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.]
  • Romans 5:1-5 [Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. ]
