14 He suffered no man to do them wrong:
Psalm 105:14-15 (KJV)
yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed,
and do my prophets no harm.
Bottom line: God guards his children in the same way as a mother hen guards her young.
Teaching
In all known religions today, you discover that the worshippers tend to fight in defense of their God. Some pick up arms and are ready to kill to prove the legitimacy of their God. But Christianity is not one of those religions. In Christianity, we don’t fight to protect our God, God rather fights and protects us.
Who wants to serve a God who can’t fight for himself? There is a man in the Bible who asked this same question. His name was Joash, the father of Gideon. Gideon his son destroyed the altar of Baal (the idol they worshipped) by night and built an altar unto God. When the act was realized in the morning, Joash was asked to deliver his son so that Baal could be avenged, but he answered:
30 Then the men of the town said to Joash, “Bring out your son, that he may die, for he has broken down the altar of Baal and cut down the Asherah beside it.”
31 But Joash said to all who stood against him, “Will you contend for Baal? Or will you save him? Whoever contends for him shall be put to death by morning. If he is a god, let him contend for himself, because his altar has been broken down.”
Judges 6:30-31(ESV)
The God we serve is a God who fights for himself and his people. On several occasions, God stood the ground for his people. Israel was feared in those days not because they were too powerful, but because they worshipped a God who fought their battles.
And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
2 Chronicles 20:29 (KJV)
This is the God we worship. He is called Yahweh Nissi (The God who protects, leads, and delivers his people).
Our opening verse says:
14 He suffered no man to do them wrong:
Psalm 105:14-15 (KJV)
yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed,
and do my prophets no harm.
God will exchange nations for you.
On several occasions when I faced adversity, before I prayed to the Lord concerning it, God spoke to me saying: “I will fight for you, and you will hold your peace”. Each time he talks like that, I know the matter is settled, I have peace inside.
Therefore, no matter what you are going through today, I came to announce to you that the Lord is fighting for you, and you will see victory as you rise in the morning. So, relax, God has your back.

Reflection
- Have you ever found yourself in a position where you had to fight for yourself?
- Do you entrust your battles to God in times of crisis or do you try to solve the problem by your means?
Prayer
Thank you, dear Lord, for loving me as your own. Thank you for preserving my life and fighting all unseen battles that surround my life. Help me Lord to trust in you in times of crisis, that at the end, I may give glory to your name. Amen.
