A Boy Wearing a Medal

Conquering territories

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Romans 8:37 (KJV)

Bottom line: You are more than a conqueror.

Teaching

Every Christian living on the face of this earth faces daily battles. Our walk in Christ is not a bed of roses. Before leaving this earth, Jesus told us this.

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Matthew 10:16

We are bound to face battles in different areas of our lives; in our education, in our relationships, in our careers, in our businesses, and more. But there is an assurance that the Holy Scriptures give us: “We are more than conquerors.”

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Romans 8:37

We have the conquering Spirit of Christ. This means, no matter the mountain which stands before us, we are up to the challenge.

7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain:
and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Zechariah 4:7

We are not victims in this world, but we are Kings and Lords. We have been sent by the Lord to conquer nations and bring them under the dominion and rulership of the Lord Jesus.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:28

We must understand the God whom we serve. We must understand that he is a conquering God. When we read the Old Testament, we see how he leads Israel in a conquering quest. Israel was a kingdom most feared by other nations because they knew that Israel’s God was a God who conquered and took over other nations.

29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.

2 Chronicles 20:29

Under the reign of David the King, Israel won many battles and established itself as a world’s super-power, by right of conquest.

Canaan was a land promised to them, but they had to lay hold and acquire the land by defeating the giants who lived there at the time.

6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Numbers 14:6-9

No territory that you aspire to have is presently unoccupied. By territories, I mean jobs, business, lands, etc. Therefore, you must fight to obtain the promises of God in your life. This fight is surely not a physical fight, but a spiritual one, because life is controlled from the realms of the spirit. The weapons of this warfare are not carnal.

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

 2 Corinthians 10:4

Some of these weapons include the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, prayer in the Spirit, and faith declarations. But faith requires corresponding action.

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

James 2:14

Therefore, brace up today. Stop praying and waiting for a miracle to happen. Instead, go out and get your miracle. Take over every territory that has been given to you through Christ Jesus. The Lord may have revealed to you through dreams or prophecy or by any other means what he has given you. Now, that thing belongs to you. You must go for it fiercely like a lion hunting prey because life doesn’t give you what you deserve, but what you fight for and conquer.
