Teaching

Today, Christianity is counted among several other world religions, but, truly, Christianity is not just a religion, it is more than that. Christianity is an intimate relationship between the almighty God and man. Christianity is God reaching out to man, and becoming one with him. The Bible declares that:

But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

1 Corinthians 6:17(ESV)

God’s objective has never been to create man to function as a slave, serving him without any will, and in fear. No, that is not God’s mind about us. Some Christians think that God is so far away, above us, and we are so low beneath him, and that is how it was meant to be. Again, that was not God’s intent when he created us. God has never had pleasure in the fact that we were separated from Him.

We got separated from God when sin came into the picture. This was the plan of the devil. The Bible says that after man was created by God, he enjoyed access and communion with the Lord while he was in the Garden of Eden. He talked with Adam and caused Adam to name all the animals that He created. The devil never had this access or fellowship with God. So, he caused Adam to disobey God to break this fellowship. Eventually, Adam was sent out of the Garden of Eden and out of God’s divine presence because of that.

Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

Genesis 3:23 (KJV)

This separation from God is what brought pain, suffering, and torment into the life of man. God, being a good God, already had a plan to remedy the situation. He sent His son, Jesus Christ to offer his life as the price for humanity to be reconciled back to God.

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Colossians 1:19-21 (KJV)

Therefore, through Christ Jesus, we can approach God as it was before. Better still, through Jesus, we have been made God’s children, having his life and spiritual DNA running within our spirit. How wonderful is that!

However, we must take advantage of this glorious access we have and get to know God better by fellowshipping with him in prayer and by studying and meditating on His words. This is the true purpose of Christianity, to become one in mind, in words, and in actions with God almighty, the creator of heaven and earth.

Therefore, the purpose of prayer and studying God’s word is not so that he should bless us, but it is meant for fellowship so that we get to know him better and become one with him.

So take advantage of the finished work of Christ today. Commune with God as frequently as you can. Approach him and get to know Him better each day, and your life will be from glory to glory. Hallelujah.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

2 Corinthians 13:14 (KJV)

Reflection

  • Do you talk with God daily as you discuss with your earthly relatives?
  • Well, the idea of Christianity is, giving you access to God so that he can become more than a friend. Such that you can talk with him more than you talk with men in this world.
  • Practice doing that daily. And you’ll see God’s responses and His voice becoming clearer and louder.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, I thank you because you have given me a Divine access to the Father. I declare today that I’m connected to God and He is an active participant in my daily activities in the name of Jesus. Amen.
